Christopher Buchholz was born in Los Angeles. After attending schools in the U.S., England and France where he graduated, he decided to become an actor. He received a best actor prize in Italy for his first movie as the Pope assassin Ali Agca in „Attempt on the Pope“.

He has since worked as a lead actor with directors such as Michelangelo Antonioni, Peter Yates, Claire Denis, Pierre Schoendorfer, Volker Schlöndorff, Virgil Widrich or Cihan Inan. Christopher also directed plays, short movies, feature length movies and documentaries.

He is the managing director of Say Cheese Productions GmbH and directed the International Francophone Film Festival in Tübingen and Stuttgart from 2010 t0 2024.

 

Christopher speaks four languages fluently:
English (mother tongue), French (mother tongue), German (mother tongue) and Italian.
